Food Protection Manager Certification Course & Exam

Location: Classroom under Shipwrights Cottage

This certification is required for all food entrepreneurs interested in using Ujamaa Kitchen or The Food Pavilion. To qualify, you must have a valid Food Safety Manager Certification—so it is essential, if you don’t have a current certification, that you either attend this free course and exam.
Free to Attend, but Registration Required, Available for only Bayview residents.

“The Art of Mole” with Chef Olivia
Olivia Mecalco, a chef shaped by her grandmother’s collection of regional Mexican recipes, brings both tradition and range to her cooking. After 18 years in San Francisco kitchens spanning California-Mexican, Cuban, French, and Italian cuisines, she launched Mi Comedor—now her independent catering business. A La Cocina alum, Olivia is known for vibrant, thoughtful dishes that fuse classic Latin American flavors with modern technique, showcased through sought-after pop-ups, major events, and as a regular at the Ferry Building Farmers Market.

As part of the Future of Us Festival (@futures.us), Kamu Siapa Kitchen (@kamu_siapa_kitchen) is teaming up with local Bayview non-profit, En2action (@en2action) to host a back-to-back live dinner service and pre-order takeout featuring a Indonesian + Southern Soul Food set menu that was co-created with Bayview residents, advocates, and chefs that speaks to the past, present, and now future of food cultures in Bayview.
ALL ARE WELCOME, and we invite Bayview/Hunter's Point residents in particular to come and enjoy a meal by simply providing their address.
